My Approach

I believe you know yourself best, but may need to make time and space to reconnect with you.  I apply an integrative, holistic approach that examines each person's experience while taking into account the context in which they exist.  The foundation of my work is establishing a brave space of safety and trust, while embracing compassion, empathy, non-judgment and openness.

Megan Choitz, MSW, LICSW, ACM

Our Story

My Background

I received my Masters degree in Social Work from Smith College in Massachusetts in 2007.  I received my Bachelors degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University in California.  I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and an Accredited Case Manager in Social Work through the American Case Management Association.  I am currently supervising a UW MSW student and have experience providing supervision towards Social Work licensing.

I align with a Strengths Based perspective.  I have extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and have taught classes for adults struggling with depression and social skills groups for children.  My experience also includes providing trainings for companies in regards to burnout and self care.  I have also provided Medical Residents with trainings regarding family experiences in the hospital and hospice care.  Wellness theory, mindfulness, healthy boundaries, and Family Systems Theory are some of the other modalities I implement with my clients.
